Sled Island Comedy with Ben Sosa-Wright, Sophie Haze, Amar Singh and more
Ben Sosa-Wright
Actor, comedian, and writer Ben Sosa-Wright was named a Just For Laugh’s New Face in 2022 and is an alum of The Second City Mainstage. Ben was also named one of CBC’s 15 Canadian Comics To Watch in 2019. His writing has been featured in Reader’s Digest and Xtra Magazine. You can catch his stand-up on The New Wave of Standup on CBC Gem or Roast Battle: Canada on Crave.
Sophie Haze
Since launching her comedy career in 2018, Sophie Haze has performed across Canada, from Montreal’s Gigglefest to her current home in Edmonton. Known for clever wordplay and absurd anecdotes from her personal life, she blends deadpan delivery with a classic observational style. Beyond the stage, she can be heard on various podcasts, offering her unique take on pop culture, politics, and the comedy scene, and she released her debut album Normal Married in 2025.
Amar Singh
Amar Singh is one of the best comedians in the world at being one of North America’s rising comedic stars. Delightfully absurd and shockingly honest, he is a consistent crowd favourite. Vibrating between heartfelt personal stories and the dumbest jokes he can think of, Amar will keep you deeply entertained. He’s opened for Aparna Nancherla, Michael Winslow, Maddy Smith, and many of Canada’s greats. You can find his recent debut special Please Don’t Kill Me on YouTube.
Mikey Dubs
A regular performer at Hecklers Comedy Club, Victoria-based comedian Mikey Dubs has been featured on CBC's The Debaters, CBC Lol Radio, The New Wave of Standup, JFL Originals, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. He is the 2026 recipient of the Misdirect Nick Nemeroff Comedy Grant, and will be releasing his debut comedy special titled The Indian Robot in the fall of this year.
Gabby Rose
A self-proclaimed “stand-up cumedian,” Gabby Rose is a queer comic who kicked off her comedy career with a bang in Edmonton back in 2021. Since then, she has been delivering spicy hot takes, incredibly honest stories, and beyond hilarious jokes across the country. After a brief appearance at Sled Island in 2024 (she filled in after a last minute cancellation, thanks Gabby), we’re very excited to have her back at the festival!
John Cullen
John Cullen is a stand-up comedian, podcaster, and writer currently residing in Calgary, Alberta. He has been performing stand-up for over a decade and has made televised appearances at the Just for Laughs Halifax and Winnipeg Comedy Festivals, as well as making regular appearances on CBC Radio’s The Debaters. His podcast, Broomgate: A Curling Scandal, was the #1 podcast in Canada and won the Ambie for Best Sports Podcast.
